Voters from the Britton-Hecla School District went to the polls on Tuesday to elect three members to the board.A total of five candidates were vying for the Britton-Hecla board spots. Elected to the B-H board were all three of the challengers: Angela Grupe, Kelli Erickson and Heather Landreth. The other two candidates on the ballot were incumbents Nick Fosness and Ryan Furman.
A total of 443 of 2,201 Britton-Hecla registered voters went to the polls for a 20.1% turnout. Angela Grupe was the top vote-getter for Britton-Hecla with 316 votes, followed by Kelli Erickson with 312, Heather Landreth 270, Ryan Furman 161 and Nick Fosness with 122. Votes by precinct were: Britton, Grupe 293, Erickson 290, Landreth 240, Furman 147, and Fosness 102; Hecla: Landreth 30, Grupe 23, Erickson 22, Furman 14, and Fosness 20.
Last June’s B-H School Board election saw 413 voters and an 18.8% voter turnout.
