Michael “Mike” F. Webb, age 72, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the local hospital. Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at New Hope Lutheran Church, rural Hayti, SD. Rev Randy Eisenbeisz officiated.
Visitation was at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Burial was at New Hope Cemetery, rural Hayti, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his Buckhorn Rodeo Family and his friends at Cattlemen’s, Roadhouse, and The Wheel Inn.. Active pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Jeff Stadheim, Jeff Larson, Chad Eachen, Mike Kohl, Dallas Miller, Kyle Hansen and Kevin Gribble.
Mike was born on November 8, 1950, in Britton, SD, to Dean and Mary (Felix) Webb. He attended Britton High School.
On August 12, 1978, Mike married Ivalu “Iva” Johnson in Britton, SD. Mike and the Webb Family, invented the Cotton Module Mover in which they sold to Cotton Gins in the south. Their business was called Webb’s Inc.. He later started Mike’s Welding & Repair in Kidder, SD. They then moved to Watertown and worked at Telelect, Stadley Construction, Stromseth Construction, Weeks Tree Service and later Webb Tree Service. 1998 Mike Started Webb Trucking and continued trucking until August 31, 2022, when he retired.
He was a member of Sportsman Club in Britton, SD and Buckhorn Rodeo Association. He and Iva did the telethon for Muscular Dystrophy and did the MS walk on stilts for “Jerry’s Kids”. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter play hockey, woodworking, guns, cooking on his smoker grill for LATC Diesel program, and many miscellaneous events.. He also loved his Deal or No Deal TV show and western movies. He was a “Jack of all trades, Master of None” as he said.
Mike is survived by his wife, Ivalu “Iva”; one daughter, Feather Webb; one grandchild, Gracelyn Webb, all of Watertown; one Brother, Dale (Kathy) Webb, Nipawin Saskatchewan Canada; one sister, Sharon (Steve) Ryan, Rapid City, SD;several nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Buddy.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Mary; one grand-daughter, Madelyn “Maddie” Shepherd; two brothers, Larry and Jack.
