The Langford Area volleyball team had a busy week with six matches and came away with four wins.
Coach Susan Larson’s squad, now 5-6, downed Britton-Hecla on Monday in a five-set thriller 25-18, 30-28, 22-25, 14-25, 15-13, swept Aberdeen Christian last week Tuesday 25-21, 25-20, 25-23, and won two of four matches in a tournament at Wolsey-Wessington on Saturday, downing Marty 25-11, 25-17 and Sunshine Bible 25-13, 25-17 but falling to Wolsey-Wessington 25-9, 25-7 and Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 25-15, 15-25, 25-20.
Last night Tuesday the Lady Lions played at North Central and Saturday they will compete in a tournament in Ipswich.

Langford Area locked up in a competitive match with Aberdeen Christian but swept the Knights.
“It was a tight battle all three sets,” said Larson. “But the girls held their composure and were able to rally from behind at times. We played really scrappy… getting after the ball. Unfortunately we played out of system quite a bit. We need to work on staying in system and getting the ball to our attackers, but it was a nice win for us.”
The Lady Lions came up with 28 kills, led by Bayleann Moen with nine and Megan Gustafson with seven.
