Area communities will be getting into the holiday spirit in the next few weeks. Here is what area towns have scheduled:
Britton (Saturday): Santa will be set up Saturday during Christmas on Parade at cups from 11 am. to 2 p.m. See the story on this page for more information on all the events that day or the back page ad.
Havana (Saturday): Come visit with Santa and enjoy a fun evening in Havana on Saturday, Dec. 2. Stop by the Civic Center between 5 and 8 p.m. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. Enjoy bingo. Door prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m.
Lake City (Monday): Santa Claus will make his annual stop at the Lake City Municipal on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Take photos with Santa and enjoy treats, hot beverages and door prizes.
Langford (Dec. 8): Langford Santa Day Festivities are planned for Friday, Dec. 8. The parade of lights will be held at 7 p.m. followed by cookies, cocoa, kids crafts and a visit with Santa at the Langford Legion Hall. Contact Shelby Everson at 605-470-0401 if you’d like to sign up a parade entry.
Pierpont (Dec 9): Come have coffee with Santa in Pierpont on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. at Ponts. Kids can visit with the big guy, enjoy crafts and get a treat bag. Drawings for adults are also planned.
Veblen (Dec. 10): Visit Santa in Veblen on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Veblen Community Center. In addition to Santa arriving at 1:00, there will be a free will donation meal served from 11:00-2:00, pictures with Santa and a station to make ornaments.
Eden (Dec. 16): Check out Main Street in Eden on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. Santa will be available for pictures and treats will be handed out. The Eden Fire Department is also sponsoring a drawing for a 50 in. TV. Eden’s 4th Annual Candy Cane hunt is also going on currently. There are ten candy canes around town that people can locate for prizes. Locations can be turned in at Dan’s Grocery.
Claremont (Dec. 17): Santa Day in Claremont will be Sunday, Dec. 17 at City Hall starting at 4 p.m. St. Nick will be visiting and there will be treats for kids and door prizes. Check back in upcoming weeks for more information.
Fort Sisseton is also planning their Frontier Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 9.
