Warner outscored the Lions 18-6 in the second quarter to boost a 12 point first period lead to 24 at intermission on the way to a 73-24 Lake Region Conference victory.

The Lions had been scheduled to play Florence-Henry in the Redfield Classic on Saturday but that event was cancelled due to bad weather.

This week Coach Brian Schuring’s crew, now 0-11, will host North in a twin bill with the girls’ team on Saturday (JV girls 1 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow).

“Warner created some difficult matchups with us,” said Schuring. “We tried to switch it up a little on defense, however, we were not able to get it done. We played a little sluggish on both ends. The boys need to learn from this and make sure they are ready for their next game.”

Jacob Samson netted 12 points on four three-pointers and pulled down four rebounds for the Lions. Rennan Bruns added 10 counters and had a pair of assists.
