At the meeting of the Langford Board of Trustees on Jan. 16, the group once again heard from Anthony Hermes during the public comment period. At December’s meeting Hermes discussed his view on the performance of the maintenance department and concerns he has. The Board welcomed Hermes to present a list of items he’d like better maintained around town and the Board would review it. Hermes returned to the most recent meeting requesting to be paid if he has to prepare a list of items for the maintenance department to better maintain.
Trustee Chad Hardy advised the board doesn’t need a list. Rather, the offer was extended for Hermes as a way to present his concerns and/or complaints to the Board. It was noted that Hermes will not be paid for a list if he chooses to prepare one. No motion was taken on the matter.
Much of the meeting was also organizational in nature. Member of the Langford Public Library board were approved, including President, Kayla Suther; Vice President, Kellie Alberts; Treasurer, Kaitlin Stiegelmeier; Trustees Karen Wegleitner, Stephanie Fix, and Brandi Fries; Librarian/Secretary, Nicole Hoines. Twenty members on the current roster of volunteers for the Langford Volunteer Fire Department were approved.
2024 Salaries and insurance plans were approved. See the official minutes elsewhere in this week’s paper for more information.
Should it be necessary, the board of trustees election was set for April 9. One three-year trustee term held by Jordan Hupke will be expiring.
In other business, the transfer of contingency funds and a transfer of funds from the electric fund to the general fund were approved. A building permit for Orrie Jesz was approved as well.
The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
