Lions’ Finale On Friday

The Langford Area boys basketball team came out on the short end of three contests in the past week, falling to Florence-Henry, Faulkton, and Tri-State.

The Langford Area boys basketball team came out on the short end of three contests in the past week, falling to Florence-Henry, Faulkton, and Tri-State.

The Lions took an 0-18 season mark into a home game with Aberdeen Christian last night Tuesday. Coach Brian Schuring’s club travels to Waverly to take on Waverly-South Shore in the regular season finale on Friday with the Region 1B tournament set to begin on Monday, Feb. 26.

“We played two teams (Tri-State and Faulkton) who really used their quickness against us,” said Schuring. “We struggled with their pressure and they pushed us off our spots offensively. We need to be able to play better in the half court with our offense. We rely too much on taking shots that are not in rhythm, which is why we shoot a poor percentage. We play hard and we don’t give up, which is what I love about these boys!”
