com Last week, readers were asked if they felt that the Supreme Court made the right decision regarding allowing immunity in a recent decision regarding Trump’s actions after the 2020 election. 97 people voted. 74 (76%) said “no, the Court did not make the right decision.” 22 voters (23%) said “yes, the Court made the right decision,” and one voter was unsure.

Meet July 25
District 1 Democrats are invited to a meeting Thursday, July 25 at Fort Sisseton. The event will take place in the South Barracks at 5 p.m. and includes candidate meet and greets and speakers. Jamie Smith of Sioux Falls will speak. U.S. Congressional candidate Sheryl Johnson will also be present as will Steve McCleerey, District 1 House candidate. A catered meal will be available for $25.

Giveaway
The Marshall County Food Pantry’s school supply giveaway will be Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The pantry will not be open on Friday, Aug. 2.
Last Pool Day
The last day to enjoy the Britton Swimming Pool will be Sunday, Aug. 11. The pool will then close for the season.
FSA: ERP Aug. 14 Deadline
The USDA announced an August 14 application deadline for Emergency Relief Program assistance for commodity and specialty crop producers impacted by 2022 natural disasters. The deadline is for commodity and specialty crop producers to apply for the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) for 2022 natural disaster losses is Aug. 14, 2024. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) began accepting ERP 2022 applications in October 2023. Contact the FSA office for more details.
