B-H NETTERS OFF TO 2-0 START
Britton-Hecla’s Abby Lee was a dominant force at the net in the Lady Braves’ opening match sweep of Leola-Frederick last week Tuesday. The B-H junior blocked this spike attempt.

    The Britton-Hecla volleyball squad is off to a strong start to its season with a pair of wins in the past week.
    Coach Jenna Peters’ squad, now 2-0, swept Leola-Frederick 25-18, 25-23, 25-21 last week Tuesday and then defeated Tiospa Zina in four sets on Thursday 25-15, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20.  The Lady Braves played Tri-State last night Tuesday.
    This week Britton-Hecla hosts Webster Area on Thursday.

    Britton-Hecla put on a clinic in crunch time to earn its sweep over the Titans.
    In the opening set B-H led 22-18 before scoring the final three points with Karlie Zuehlke serving the final two counters.  L-F led 22-20 in set two but Abby Lee pounded a pair of kills and RaeAnn Hagenson served an ace for the final point.  Then in set three the Lady Braves scored the final four points, kicked off by a Sterling Brassfield kill, to break a 21-21 tie.

    The Lady Braves started fast with a 10-point win in set one and took the second set by six points before Tiospa rallied to take set three.  But the local netters rebounded with a 25-20 win in the fourth set to clinch the match.
