Several Marshall County offices are moving to a temporary location at the former Schumaker Home Furnishings building, 1611 Vander Horck, Britton, in preparation for the upcoming Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center project starting in October. The offices moving to that location will include the Auditor, Treasurer, Register of Deeds, Director of Equalization, and Zoning.
THESE OFFICES ARE CLOSED THURSDAY AND WILL REOPEN IN THE NEW LOCATION ON FRIDAY.
All absentee voting (which starts on Friday) will take place at the Schumaker Building location.
The Clerk of Courts will remain in its current office until September 30 before relocating to the old GLAD office in the Community Building. Court will be held at the courthouse on Sept. 24, then moved to Day County. For transportation assistance, contact the Clerk of Courts at 605-448-5213.
The Sheriff and E911 offices are expected to move next week to the County Health Nurse wing of the Community Building, with access via the south-facing door. For updates, follow the “Marshall County Sheriff’s Office” Facebook page. Their stay at the community building is expected to last about one year.
Next week’s Marshall County Commission meeting will still take place at the courthouse, with future meetings held at the North Marshall Firehall.
