The Britton-Hecla cross country team competed in a pair of meets during the past week and is heading down the home stretch of its season.
Coach Stephanie Symens’ squad ran in the Aberdeen Roncalli Invitational on Thursday and the Deuel Invitational on Monday. This week the local runners will compete at Groton on Monday and will wrap up regular season meets at Sisseton on Oct. 3. The Eastern Coteau Conference meet is Oct. 7, the Northeast Conference meet Oct. 10, and Region 1A is Oct. 16.
“Our athletes continue to get stronger as the season progresses,” said Symens. “That’s exactly what I want them to do. We ran a new course in Aberdeen and it turned out to be a really nice course to run on. Monday we went to Clear Lake and all ran really good times for the challenging course that it was.”
