B-H HOMECOMING NEXT WEEK
Britton-Hecla is planning Homecoming next week. As always, part of the festivities include the crowning of the king and queen. This year’s candidates include back row, left to right: Dashel Davidson, Daniel Person, Kendall Knudson. Front: Sterling Brassfield, Annika Tank, and Heather Storbakken. The royalty will be crowned Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the tennis courts. The night will also include a pep rally and the traditional burning of the B-H.

    Homecoming at Britton-Hecla is scheduled for next week. It will be a full week of sports, team spirit, and fun. The theme this year is “Braves Put on a Show,” which includes all things TV and movie related!
    On Monday, coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the tennis courts. Senior homecoming queen candidates this year include. Sterling Brassfield (parents- Courtney and Gary Brassfield), Heather Storbakken (Lynn and Rodell Storbakken), Annika Tank (Allison and Renny Tank). King candidates are Dashel Davidson  (parents Cristy Davidson and Tate Davidson), Kendall Knudson (Lisa and Kevin Knudson) and Daniel Person (Lisa and Troy Person).
    Besides the crowning of the royalty, spectators can also enjoy a pep rally and the traditional burning of the B-H. 
    Athletic events during the week include volleyball on Tuesday at home versus Sisseton and at Milbank on Thursday. Cross country will run at Groton on Monday and at Sisseton on Thursday. The homecoming football game versus Waubay/Summit is on Friday at 3 p.m. 
    Dress up days for all grades will be Monday- Minion Monday, Tuesday- Night-in vs Night-Out (pajamas or fancy clothes), Wednesday- Working Wednesday (career dress up day), Thursday- Movie Character Day, Friday- Red and White. 
    School will dismiss at 1:45 p.m. on Friday ahead of the 3 p.m. football game.
    The Homecoming parade will take place on Friday at 1:00 p.m. (NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME). Entries should begin lining up on Fifth Street at the corner of Fifth Street and Ninth Avenue (north of First Lutheran Church) no later than 12:45. The block north of the Amacher Auditorium and the block north of the playground are reserved. Entries should face east. Start time is promptly at 1:00. Community parade entries are welcome.
    The parade will travel on Main Street from Fifth Street to Vander Horck. moving west on Vander Horck to 13th Ave where it will turn North and then disband. Parade participants will sign the school release waiver as they pass the corner of 5th and Main. Jennifer Carlson will have the waivers to sign as entries pass.
