Three Britton-Hecla volleyball players have earned postseason honors.
Senior Heather Strobakken and junior Abby Lee were both named to the Eastern Coteau Conference first team, while freshman Jaelee Grupe was a second team selection.
Rounding out the first team were seniors Kaylee Carlson and Madeline Prahl and junior Abigail Kjenstad of Great Plains Lutheran; freshman Jaina Johnson of Waverly-South Shore; and sophomore Addison Heinje of Wilmot.
Other second team picks were senior Andie Roslov and junior Roean Raymer of Florence-Henry; junior Jolie Lien of Great Plains Lutheran; senior Shali Laurence of Tri-State; senior JoZee Snyder of Waubay-Summit; and sophomore Brianna Gottschalk of Waverly-South Shore,
GPL’s Kjenstad was named the league’s most valuable player and the Panthers’ coach Jacklyn Karli was selected as the ECC Coach of the Year.
Great Plains Lutheran won the ECC title with a perfect 6-0 mark (23-6 overall). Britton-Hecla (14-12) was second at 5-1, followed by Florence-Henry (8-20) at 4-2, Wilmot (11-17) at 3-3, Waverly-South Shore (8-20)a t 2-4, Tri-State (1-19) at 1-5, and Waubay-Summit (1-25) at 0-6.
