SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN!

    Area communities will be getting into the holiday spirit in the next few weeks. Many have visits from the jolly ole fellow planned. Here is what area towns have scheduled:
    Britton (Saturday): Santa will be set up Saturday during Christmas on Parade at cups from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. See the story on this page for more information on all the events that day or the back page ad.
    Havana (Saturday): Come visit with Santa and enjoy a fun evening in Havana on Saturday, Dec. 7. Stop by the Civic Center between 5 and 8 p.m. Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. Enjoy bingo. Door prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m.
    Veblen (Sunday): Visit Santa in Veblen on Sunday, Dec. 8th at the Veblen Community Center. In addition to Santa arriving at 1 p.m, there will be a free will donation meal served from 10:30-2:00, pictures with Santa bake sale, children’s activity, and a toy drawing. The lighted parade will be Saturday at 6 p.m.
    Lake City (Monday): Santa Claus will make his annual stop at the Lake City Municipal on Monday, Dec. 9th at 6 p.m. Take photos with Santa and enjoy treats, hot beverages and door prizes. 
    Langford (Dec. 13): Langford Santa Day Festivities are planned for Friday, Dec. 13. A chili supper, hosted by the Parish League will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Langford Legion Hall. The parade of lights will be held at 7:30 p.m. followed by cookies, cocoa, kids crafts and a visit with Santa at the Langford Legion Hall.     Pierpont (Dec 15): Come have coffee with Santa in Pierpont at Ponts on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 2-4 p.m. Kids can visit with the big guy, enjoy crafts and get a treat bag.
    Claremont (Dec. 15): Santa Day in Claremont will be Sunday, Dec. 15 at City Hall from 3-5 p.m. Soup and chili will be served along with other refreshments. Door prizes for kids are also planned. 
    Eden (Dec. 14): Check out Main Street in Eden on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. Santa will be available for pictures and treats will be handed out. Santa will also be making an appearance at Club Eden on Friday, Dec. 13, during Customer Appreciation night starting at 5pm. 
    Fort Sisseton is also planning their Frontier Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 14. See the ad on the back page for more information.
