The newly-formed Sisseton-Britton-Webster high school baseball team played its first games last weekend, dropping a decision to Redfield Area 13-3 on Saturday and falling to Clark Area on Sunday 9-4.
The SBW squad is back in action against Howard in Canova at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Redfield Area used a five-run fifth inning to take charge of the season opener.
SDBW jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Ben Suther tripled in the opening frame. Redfield got one run back in the bottom of the first and then scored four in the second and three in the third to grab an 8-3 lead before ending the game early with a five-run rally in the fifth.
Jackson Rude earned the pitching win for Redfield, allowing just two hits and three runs in four innings. LJ Crooks took the loss in two innings of work. Suther and Max Dahlen each had a hit and an RBI for SBW. Micah Zastrow collected three hits and four RBI’s for Redfield.

Clark Area pounded out 12 hits to get past SBW on Sunday.
Watson Grantham picked up the pitching win, allowing only three hits and a pair of unearned runs over five innings and fanning 10 batters. Ben Suther took the pitching loss. He hurled four innings, giving up four runs on six hits and striking out six.
After a scoreless first frame Clark scored in each of the next five innings, breaking open a 4-2 contest with four tallies in the fifth.
Carter Stickland, LJ Crooks, Levi Nelson, and Dylan Carlson each collected a hit for SBW, and Stickland added a pair of RBI’s. Jakob Steen led Clark Area with three hits.
