Britton-Hecla High School will present the hit Broadway musical “Beetlejuice”, bringing the beloved Tim Burton classic to life with a cast of 25 student actors and a tech crew of six. This edgy, irreverent comedy follows Lydia Deetz, a goth teen fascinated by the afterlife, who discovers her new home is haunted by a recently deceased couple and the mischievous Beetlejuice himself. Chaos and hilarity ensue when she calls on the wild demon to help scare off the living, unleashing pandemonium—and a giant sandworm.

Meanwhile, Langford Area students will hit the stage with “Popstars: The 90’s Musical,” a vibrant, high-energy show bursting with hit songs from the era of boy bands and girl power. With a cast and crew of 52, including directors and musicians, this musical promises nostalgia and nonstop fun.
Set in a 1990s high school, the story follows Mark, a heartbroken teen dumped by his fame-hungry girlfriend Shannon Van de Witt. When Shannon learns that a music mogul will judge the State Talent Show, she abandons Mark for a chance at pop stardom. But Mark isn’t out for long—he and his friends reinvent their grunge band as a boy band to steal the spotlight, with help from the talented new girl, Ella. It’s a race to the final curtain in this humorous and heartfelt tale of friendship, fame, and finding your voice.
Langford Area performances are Wednesday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m., and April 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. The show is directed by Diane Hoines, Kelly Wieser, JaKelle Hardy, Susan Larson, and Holly Glodrey. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
