DALE EUGENE ERICKSON

Dale was born on June 12, 1933 in Langford, SD to Melvin and Theresa Erickson. Dale greaduated from Langford High School in 1952. After graduation Dale joined the U.S. Airforce and was stationed in England as an airplane mechanic. Returning home, Dale settled in Minneapolis, MN and on on Nov. 30th, 1963, Dale married Doris (Randall) Erickson of Osage, IA. They remained in South Minneapolis for over 60 years having 3 children, Kim Crawford of Albert Lea, MN, Bradley (Tanya) Erickson of Gelndale, AZ, Gregory (Cheryl) Erickson of Foley, AL, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Dale worked for a painting contractor before starting and running his own successful painting company for over 30 years, “Dale Erickson Painting”, eventually teaching and employing both his sons as well. Dale was known as a family man, an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.
Dale is preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 sisters, Murial (Oscar) Gustafson, Harriett (otto) Aldentaler, Hazel (Dale) Phillips. 1 granddaughter, Jaydence, a niece Diane and 2 nephews; Juel and David.
Dale is survived by his wife Doris, 3 children, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grand children, 2 sisters in law, many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church at 5760 Portland Ave S, Mpls, MN on Thurday June 12th at 11am. An interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at 1:30pm following the service.
