The Langford Area girls basketball team dropped three decisions during the past week.

The Lady Lions fell to Waubay-Summit 61-36 on Monday, Northwestern posted a 48-22 win on Friday, and Warner topped LA 49-30 last week Tuesday. A game scheduled with Ipswich on Thursday was postponed to Feb. 17 due to bad weather.

This week Coach Michael Alberts’ club, now 1-12, will host Wilmot on Saturday in a twin bill with the boys’ team (JV girls 1 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow), and Leola-Frederick comes to town on Monday (JV 6:30 p.m., varsity to follow).

“We need to have a better start to games and better starts to the second half,” stressed Alberts. “Once we get settled in, we play well. Teams have tried to pressure us the last few games, but I think we have done fairly well at handling the pressure. The focus we have as the season winds down is playing with consistency and to keep working on improving our offense and defense to be the best we can. We want to be playing our best basketball towards the end of our regular season and into region play.”
