Langford Area’s thinclads hit the track for the second time this season at the Orville Pfitzer Relays in Britton on Monday, and LA coach Charles Hosford was pleased with the progress he saw from his squad.
“We had improvements pretty much across the board,” said Hosford. “The most notable individuals would be Kalen Godel in the 800, Brynn Samson in the 800, Lizzie Gustafson in the 400, and Paytyn Marlow in the 100 and 200, and the girls 4x100 improved quite a bit. I thought there were marked improvements from almost everybody, but there is still much room for growth.”
LA is back in action at Ipswich on Saturday and then travels to Groton on Tuesday.
Marlow was a four-time placer for the Lady Lions on Monday, taking second in the 100 dash, fourth in the 200 dash, fourth in the long jump, and teaming up with Alex Darling, Emily Olson, and Lizzie Gustafson for fifth in the 400 relay. Olson also placed eighth in the triple jump.
Julian Rodriguez placed in both hurdle event, taking third in the 110-meter event and fifth in the 300 hurdles. Kalen Godel was also a two-time placer, finishing second in the 800 run and teaming up with Skylar Godel, Caleb Mertz, and Conner Glines to place fifth in the 800 relay.
