The Britton U16 baseball team kicked off its summer campaign with a twin bill at Lisbon, ND, last week Wednesday.
Coach Bill Bray’s club had some tough sledding in the opener, falling 19-1 in game one and 9-0 in the nightcap. The local nine played at Sisseton last night Tuesday and plays at Frederick on Thursday.
“It was our first games of the season and we just haven’t had much opportunity to practice with other spring activities still going,” said Bray. “We played better in the second game with the score 1-0 until the fourth inning.”
In the first contest Dylan Redler started on the mound and was relieved by Lofton Heer and Will Richter. Bryce Hawkinson was the starting pitcher in the second contest with relief help from Jace Rein.
