LADY BRAVES SPLIT TWO CONTESTS

Play At Webster Friday
Daynika Zuehlke converted this fastbreak bucket for two of her 11 points in the Lady Braves season-opening win over Tiospa Zina on Friday.

The Britton-Hecla girls basketball team put together a strong second half to win its season opener 45-29 over Tiospa Zina on Friday and then dropped a 57-27 decision to a strong Northwestern squad on Monday.
Coach Terry Nelson’s crew is back in action on Friday at Webster Area.
“I was happy with our defense, especially against Tiospa Zina,” said Nelson.  “We were more aggressive than we have been the last two years and it resulted in more free layups than I think we had all last season.  We also played good defense in the Northwestern game but were up against a heck of a ball team and just need to be more aggressive and physical.  Our boxing out and passing killed us.”
Nelson said his squad needs to play aggressive and fast at Webster on Friday.
“We need to play defense, box out, get up and down the floor, and take care of the basketball,” concluded Nelson.  “But I’m happy where we’re at after two games.”
