LADY LIONS ADD PAIR OF VICTORIES

The Langford Area girls basketball team picked up a pair of wins in three starts during the past week.
Coach Michael Alberts’ club, now 4-4, rolled past Hankinson, ND, 60-29 on Monday, downed Redfield in the Redfield Classic 35-30 on Saturday, and lost a narrow 36-33 decision to Herreid-Selby on Friday.
This week LA travels to Tiospa Zina on Friday.
“We had a busy weekend of basketball, and I thought we played good basketball,” noted Alberts.  “Friday, we knew we were going to have to play against quick guards that can shoot and a big post. We did a lot of good things defensively and held them under 40 which gave us a chance to win the game.
“We then had a quick turnaround and didn’t play our best game, but we played our best when it mattered most. We were able to knock down some shots and defensively we were able to stop them, ending the game on a 10-2 run. Then we were able to put a lot of good things together against Hankinson. We had other girls step up and score which we will continue to need. We also played good defense and have rebounded well which led to easy transition points.”
