Lake Region Conference rival Warner mounted a fourth quarter comeback to down Langford Area 50-43 in boys basketball play on Thursday, and Florence-Henry rolled to a 75-54 win over the Lions in the Redfield Classic on Saturday.
The losses dropped LA to 2-8 for the season heading into a contest with North Central in Eureka on Saturday. Tri-State comes to town on Monday. Both games are doubleheaders with the girls’ squad.

Florence-Henry exploded for 24 first quarter points to lead by 14 at the break and Langford Area was not able to dig out of that hole.
The Lions did cut the margin to 11 at halftime but Florence-Henry boosted the margin back to 17 after three quarters to keep LA at bay.
“This was a tough game for our team,” said LA coach Brian Schuring. “Florence/Henry played well and created a lot of points off our turnovers. We played hard, however, we just didn’t execute very well on both ends of the court. We will learn from this game and get better from it.”
The contest featured a pair of big scoring performances with Florence-Henry’s Carson Vavruska pumping in 40 points and Langford Area’s Kassen Keough lacing 29. Rennan Bruns and Jacob Samson chipped in with 10 each for the Lions.
Conner Glines grabbed eight rebounds and Ethan Olson grabbed six. Dylan Harmon added three assits and a pair of blocked shots, while Keough had three steals.

Warner rallied from a seven-point deficit after three quarters to stop Langford Area.
The Lions had led 18-16 at halftime and 35-28 after three periods before Warner outscored LA 22-8 over the final eight minutes.
“The boys played really hard and had a good chance to win this game, and I was proud of the effort they put in,” said Schuring. “When we can put in this kind of effort and play together as a team, we will be able to give our team a chance to win.”
Kassen Keough netted 20 points and Rennan Bruns had 13 to lead LA scorers. Jacob Samson and Dylan Harmon both grabbed five rebounds, Samson added four assists, and Harmon had four blocked shots. Keough was credited with four steals.
