LIONS PICK UP THIRD VICTORY

    The Langford Area boys basketball team picked up its third win of the season over Tri-State 55-48 on Monday after dropping a narrow decision to North Central 46-42 on Saturday.
    The Lions, now 3-9, travel to Northwestern for a twin bill with the girls’ squad on Friday.
    LA did take a hit this week when starter Rennan Bruns fractured his foot in practice and may be lost for the remainder of the season.

    The Lions boosted a five-point halftime advantage to nine after three periods and held off Tri-State in the final quarter.
    Kassen Keough had a big night with 31 points and Jacob Samson added nine on a trio of treys.  Conner Glines grabbed 13 rebounds and Dylan Harmon pulled down 11.  Glines added three assists and Keough had five steals.

    Langford Area fell victim to a North Central fourth quarter comeback.
    The Lions erased a one-point deficit after one quarter by outscoring the hosts 17-4 in the second stanza for a 28-16 halftime advantage and still led 34-29 after three periods.  But North Central outscored LA 17-8 over the final eight minutes for the win.
    Kassen Keough pumped in 28 points, including six treys, to lead the Lions.  Conner Glines grabbed 13 rebounds and Dylan Harmon pulled down 10.  Keough added three assists.
    The Lions struggled from the field, hitting just 16-55 tries for 29 percent, and were guilty of 24 turnovers.
