LIONS DROP TWO

LIONS DROP TWO

A cross-county tussle in front of a packed house highlighted the past week for the Langford Area boys basketball team.
Britton-Hecla led just 54-53 with 2:35 to play before scoring the final seven points of the game to put away a 61-53 victory on Friday.  Then on Saturday Wilmot came to town and pulled away in the second half for a 68-40 win.
The Lions, now 3-12, host Faulkton on Friday (varsity only - girls 6 p.m., boys to follow) and travel to Aberdeen Christian on Tuesday (JV girls 4 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow).
“We played our hearts out against the Braves and I was really proud of the boys,” said LA coach Brian Schuring.  “The game had great atmosphere and was fun to be a part of as a player and as a coach.
“Unfortunately, playing B/H the night before, didn’t leave a lot in the tank for the Lions against Wilmot. The boys became physically and mentally exhausted as the game progressed. We will get better from this game and hopefully we will get stronger getting ready for postseason play.”
