GIRLS REGIONAL TUESDAY
Britton-Hecla’s Heather Storbakken was on the move against a Clark-Willow Lake defender last week Tuesday.

Britton-Hecla dropped a pair of decisions in girls basketball action in the past week, losing to Waubay-Summit 48-33 on Thursday and to Clark-Willow Lake 62-32 last week Tuesday.
The Lady Braves, now 4-13, were scheduled to host Waverly-South Shore on Monday but that game was postponed to Thursday (JV boys, JV girls 5 p.m., varsity girls, varsity boys to follow).  B-H hosted Hamlin last night Tuesday and wraps up regular season play by hosting Groton Area on Friday.
District 1A tournament play gets underway on Tuesday.  Based on power point ratings through Monday contests the sixth-rated Lady Braves will play at #3 Sisseton (11-7), #2 Aberdeen Roncalli (13-5) will host #7 Redfield (2-15), and #4 Milbank (10-8) will host #5 Webster Area (10-9).  Top-rated Groton Area (13-6) earned a first-round bye.
Semifinal games will be played on Thursday with Groton Area playing the Milbank-Webster Area winner, and the Sisseton-Britton-Hecla winner taking on the Roncalli-Redfield winner.  SoDak 16 games are set for Thursday, March 6, to determine the eight state tournament qualifiers.
“The keys for us in the postseason are to play the best we’ve played all season for four quarters,” said Braves’ boss Terry Nelson.  “We looked good against Waubay-Summit for the first half but that was it, and we have to make the easy ones underneath.  We just have to keep fighting.”
