TOUGH HALF SINKS LIONS

TOUGH HALF SINKS LIONS

Langford Area dug itself a 25-point hole with just eight points in the first half and was not able to recover in a 52-36 boys basketball loss to Faulkton on Friday.
Coach Brian Schuring’s squad, now 3-13, played at Aberdeen Christian last night Tuesday.  This week the Lions play at Ipswich on Friday in a makeup game from December and tangle with Highmore in the Warner Classic on Saturday at 10 a.m.  The final regular season contest is against Waverly-South Shore on Friday, Feb. 28.
“The Lions shooting was about as cold as the weather outside against Faulkton, especially in the first half,” said Schuring.  “We played hard, however, we were not able to make any baskets. That played a factor in our defense and not getting any stops.  We played better the second half, however the deficit was too much to overcome.”
Kassen Keough notched 14 points for the Lions and Conner Glines added 12 points and 20 rebounds.  Dylan Harmon grabbed 10 boards.  The Lions shot just 22% from the field in the contest.
