MC SHARPSHOOTERS EARN SILVER

    The Marshall County Sharpshooters are in full swing of their 2025 shooting season with the competition Saturday in Madison the fourth in-person tournament of the year.
    The youngest Sharpshooters team, the Dodgers, finished second overall with a team score of 2101 and 34 center shots.  The Dodgers team members Rhyker Bender, Rylee Carlson, Ariana Crawford, Corban Crawford and Faustina Rapkoch have proven to be consistent competitors in the 8-9 year old division this season.  Additional 8-9 year-old competitors were Charlie Cutler, Becket Rapkoch, and Tuf Hagan. 
    This season sees another year of high-level competition between Rapkoch and Crawford in the 8-9 year-old division.  Crawford finished fifth in aggregate with a score of 447 and nine centers.  Individually, she placed fifth in Standing (85-1), tied for first in Sitting (95-3) and won Kneeling with a score of 95-4.  Rapkoch finished seventh overall with an aggregate score of 446-6.  Individually, she was eighth in Prone (84-3), fourth in Sitting (86) and fourth in Kneeling (92-2). 
    Other 8-9 year old results worth noting include Rhyker Bender’s fifth place Prone finish with a score of 95 and four centers.  The 8-9 year old division had 64 total competitors.
    The 10-11 year-old team of Skylar Bender, Harry Cutler, Tony Cutler, Lucas Knudson and Rosalyn Rapkoch also finished second with a team score of 2222 and 45 centers.  “The Braves” were lead by Rapkoch who finished with an aggregate score of 450 and four center shots, placing her ninth overall.  Harry and Rosalyn tied for high test scores in the 10-11 year-old division with scores of 96.   
Individually, Tony Cutler placed fourth in Prone with a 91-1, Bender was third in Sitting scoring 96-5, and Rapkoch placed seventh in Kneeling, scoring 92 and three center shots.  Fifty-six shooters were listed for the 10-11 year old division.
    Marshall County’s Crawford sisters, Ameilia and Aliva, were a strong presence in the 12-Up age division.  Amelia finished third overall with an aggregate score of 481 and 17 centers.  Close behind her was Alivia, placing fifth with 478 and 21 centers.  Individually, Amelia placed fourth in Prone (99-7) and tied for eighth in sitting (97-5).  Alivia placed fifth in Prone (98-7), fourth in Standing (95-4) and sixth in Kneeling (97-4).
    Additional 12-Up competitors were Jacey Melroe, Joanna Cutler and Nick Cutler.  Nick boasted the high test score of the day for all divisions of regular competition with his perfect 100.  The 12-up age division listed 90 competitors.
    Senior shooters Austin Crawford and Chris Cutler competed in a class of 10.  Crawford finished second with an aggregate score of 470-12 and Cutler finished third by just one center shot with an aggregate score of 470 and 11 centers.  Individually, Crawford placed 10th in Prone (93-2), tied for fifth in Standing (85-1), second in Sitting (97-4) and won Kneeling with a score of 97 and five centers.  Cutler placed seventh in Prone (94-2), fourth in Standing (87-2), fourth in Sitting (96-3) and fifth in Kneeling (93-4). 
    The Sharpshooters are looking forward to hosting their home tournament on Saturday, April 12 at the Britton-Hecla Arena and welcome all to come and watch starting at 10 a.m.
