She was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Lisbon, N.D., on June 18, 1967.Elaine married Danny Thayer on April 5, 1969, in Britton, S.D. They were blessed with two children, Scott and Lisa. Elaine was also blessed with being a grandma to four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Elaine worked for a time at Buhls and as a waitress at the Coffee Bar, both in Britton. Elaine loved gardening and turning that produce into canned goods. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, cross stitch, working on puzzles and working with plastic canvas, a skill she taught to her granddaughters. You could find some of her completed puzzles hanging on the walls of her house. She and Danny frequently went for drives along country roads, enjoying the scenery.
