The funeral service for Andrew Otten will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Britton. Rev. Terrill Sorensen will officiate the service.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Andrew Caleb Otten was born December 14, 1988 in Sioux Falls, SD to Michael and Julie (Kilian) Otten. He attended all his schooling in Sioux Falls and graduated from Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in 2007. Following graduation he went to WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming. There he earned a certificate for motorsports chassis fabrication with collision/ refinishing technology. Andrew was a jack of all trades, which lead him to work in various jobs over the years. He spent time at Daktronics, Midwest Railcar in Brandon, SD, and Gehl in Madison, SD. Also at Sheehan Mack in Sioux Falls before moving to Aberdeen. While in Aberdeen he worked a few months at Aberdeen Chrysler before going to work at Truck World in Stratford, SD for five years. In 2020 he began working at Harms Oil and was employed there at the time of his death.

On August 2, 2014 he married Elizebeth Wegleitner in Britton, SD. They were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Owen, in May 2022. They were currently living in Mansfield where Andrew had redone their whole home. He was able to make the house a home for his family and they enjoyed the peace and quiet they found there. Andrew could often be found out making improvements on his shop where he enjoyed tinkering on different projects.

Andrew enjoyed fishing and hunting, and could shoot anything that moved. He was an avid coin collector and was a member of a coin collectors group in Aberdeen. Recently he had also starting collecting sporting cards. Over all, Andrew loved spending time with Elizebeth and their pride and joy, Owen.

Andrew passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Sanford in Aberdeen, at the age of 34.

He is survived by his wife, Elizebeth; their son, Owen; his mom, Julie Kilian-Otten of Sioux Falls, SD; his father, Michael Otten of Hurley, SD; his parents-in-law, Herman and Laurie Wegleitner of Britton; sister, Jennifer Kilian of Dickinson, ND; sister-in-law, Kimberly (Zach) Hawkins of Brandon, SD; brother-in-law, Nathan (Kyela) Wegleitner of Hayti, SD; paternal grandmother, Sandra Otten of Sioux Falls, SD.

Preceding him in death was his brother, Tyler Otten; paternal grandfather Donald Otten; and maternal grandparents Junior and Shirley Kilian.
