HARVEY J. SCHNEIDER

Harvey J. Schneider passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Sanford Webster Medical Center, at the age of 60.

Per Harvey’s wishes his body will be donated to University of South Dakota to help provide training for educational purposes. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Harvey J. Schneider was born May 13, 1963 in Britton, SD to Orville and Shirley (Arneson) Schneider. He attended high school in Britton and graduated in 1981. His junior year of high school he early enlisted into the Air Force. He served in the United States Air Force for just shy of 18 years before suffering a grand mal seizure. While serving in the Air Force he spent two years in Germany and also served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

He attended school in Wahpeton for two years studying small engine repair. Following the completion of school he moved to Webster, SD where he lived the remainder of his life. For a few years he traveled to Watertown for work at Dave’s Anchor and Marine. He then worked part time in Britton at Hortons before beginning work at Webster Tire for the next 15+ years.

Harvey was a gifted mechanic and loved working with his hands. His specialty was tires and enjoyed the years he spent working at Webster Tire. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Harvey enjoyed socializing at the local bars with friends and attending any local fundraisers being held. He was a big supporter of organizations that were dear to his heart.

He is survived by his sisters, Bette Schneider of Britton and Janet (Glenn) Enstad of Aberdeen, SD; nieces and nephews: Kendall Schneider of Prior Lake, MN, Kayla Schneider of Boston, MA, Erin (Brandon) Kolb of Aberdeen, and Jordan (Maren) Enstad of Fargo, ND; and his greatnieces and nephews: Madison, Kaitlyn and Owen Kolb and Ella, Jace and Maxx Enstad.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister, Nancy; his grandparents, Henry and Hattie Schneider and Orvey and Luella Arneson; his aunts and uncles: Doris Albrecht, Harlow Arneson, Dennis Arneson and Marilyn Voss; and a great-nephew, Landon Kolb.
