Britton’s 24th Annual Harvest Days was a success again this year. A rainy day Saturday didn’t even put too much of a damper on the fun.
On Tuesday, Marshall County voters went to the polls to decide whether to adopt a $5 million bond for renovations and repairs to the Courthouse and the construction of a new law enforcement center. By a wide margin, the voters decided to pass the bond.
Last week, Marshall County 4-H members participated in their biggest event of the year: Achievement Days. Events took place Tuesday through Thursday.

This weekend will be full of Harvest Days fun in Britton and good times will no doubt be had by all. However, one event may be a little bittersweet for some- the family and many friends of Joe Lang. This year’s Harvest Days theme “Backyard BBQ in Memory of Joe Lang” is dedicated to that very man. Ahead of the festival, it is worthwhile to take some time to appreciate Joe’s contributions to the event.
The Britton U16 baseball team came within one game of earning a berth in the state tournament last week.
The Britton Swim Team scored 449 points to take third place in the Summer Team Swim Championship held in Chamberlain Friday through Sunday.
The funeral service for Kenton “Kent” Mueller will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Britton. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate the service. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
The funeral service for Vivian Scott was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at First Lutheran Church of Britton. Rev. Terrill Sorensen officiated the service. Burial was at the Britton Cemetery.
