The Langford Area girls basketball team weathered a late rally from Hitchcock-Tulare to post its first win of the season 43-41 on Saturday.

The Langford Area boys basketball team had some tough sledding in the past week, dropping decisions to Hitchcock-Tulare, Ipswich, and Estelline-Hendricks.

The lid was on the basket for the Britton-Hecla girls basketball squad in the second quarter and the Lady Braves couldn’t quite erase a 10point deficit in a 42-38 loss to Webster Area on Friday.

Britton-Hecla’s Bryce Hawkinson won the 144pound championship and three other local matmen finished among the top six in a tournament held in Faulkton on Saturday.
