Fundraiser Planned June 9
Since 1978, during the first full weekend in June, cavalry troops and infantry units have converged on the grounds of Fort Sisseton for the state park’s Historical Festival.
Langford Area School District voters will go to the polls on Tuesday to elect two members to the school board. Three candidates are running for the two spots on the board for three-year terms – incumber Morgan Holler and challengers Fallon Deutsch and Scott Smith.
State Tourney June 5-6 At Watertown
This past winter was a rough one for most in this neck of the woods. But for law enforcement and other emergency responders, it was extra difficult. Marshall County Sheriff Sam Swanson estimates that for every blizzard the area saw, and there were many, he and his deputies responded to four or five stranded or stuck motorists. Recently, Swanson was recognized in a small way for helping a specific motorist.
Britton-Hecla Superintendent Steve Benson urged the 31 graduating seniors to enjoy the excitement of the day at the school’s commencement ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
